Emo pucksters have up and down week

Jordan Davis and Matthew Beck scored first-period goals to help Emo OPP to a 2-2 tie with visiting West End Eagles (Fort Frances) in Tom Thumb action.
Zac Johnston and Kirk Petrin replied for the Fort squad.
OPP’s second game against tagg’s (Fort Frances) was a 2-1 loss. Brian White and George Ossachuk paced the Fort crew while Tyler Kinnear got Emo’s lone goal.
In other action, three first-period goals propelled the Emo Wings to a 5-3 win over the Times Tigers (Fort Frances). Ryan Witherspoon scored a hat trick for Wings while Mike Badiuk and Brock Benjamin netted singles.
Josh Sigurdson (two) and Taylor Jorgenson replied for the Tigers.
The Wings did not let up on their home-town partners, burying Emo OPP 8-5 with four first-period tallies. Tyson Romyn led the way with four goals while Ryan Witherspoon and Richard Wieringa added two each.
Tyler Kinnear, Ian Lougheed, and William Brandon all scored for the OPP.
In Atom action, the Emo Selects edged visiting International Falls 3-2. Dennis Mutz (two) and David Goodman scored for Emo while Paul Amerud and Dustin Pullar replied for the Falls.
Meanwhile, the Law Association (Fort Frances) gave the Emo Hawks a lesson in hockey last week, scoring four second-period goals en route to a 5-1 victory in PeeWee play.
Tristyn Rose and Ryan Smith each had two goals for the Fort while Nathan Robar added a single. Shawn Makinson got Emo’s lone goal.
The Emo Panthers did not have much better luck, falling 2-1 to the Kentucky Colonels (Fort Frances) on Kiel Martin’s second-period tally.
Tyler Shannon scored the other Fort goal while S. Hyatt got the only goal for Emo.
But the Panthers roared back against Doug Trucking, skating away with a 3-1 win on goals by Dan Hettinga, Jeff LaFleur, and Eric Mosbeck.
Libby Mann replied for the visitors.
In Bantam action, the Emo Cowboys outskated the Canadian Tire Flyers (Fort Frances) 5-2 on goals by Dan Schulzki, Darren DeGagne, Paul Grennier, Joel McCoy, and Nathan Shute.
Josh Hartlin got both goals for the Flyers.
But against that same Canadian Tire squad, this time it was the visitors emerging with a 4-3 win on the strength of four second-period tallies.
Kevin Webb, Hartlin, Andrew Rogozinski, and Travis Green shone for the Flyers while Grennier, Shute, and McCoy scored for the Cowboys.
The Emo Blues also split their contests in Midget play, losing their first game 6-5 to the Legion (Fort Frances), who got goals from Gary Wagner, Lucas Cawston, Jeremy Oster, Justin Rogers, Merv Rose, and Jon Caul.
Ron Redford, Jason Mann, Bob Curtis, Dan Redford, and Travis Belluz all scored in a losing effort.
But against BoMac Bantam ‘AA’ squad, the Cowboys put the visitors away with three third-period goals en route to a 5-0 victory.
Mann (two), Jason Woolsey, Curtis, and Ron Redford were the Blues’ snipers.
