Emo pucksters have strong week

In Atom action, the Emo Selects were back on the winning trail after blowing out visiting Causeway (Fort Frances) 14-1.
Eric Soucy led the Selects’ attack with four goals while Beis Strachan and Ryan Witherspoon each had hat tricks. Brian Wayash (two), Matt Badiuk, and Nathan Brigham rounded out the scoring.
Matthew Plante replied for Causeway in the second.
Meanwhile, the Emo Rockets notched a pair of wins in Novice action, including a 3-2 victory over the Emo Wings on Sigurdson’s second goal of the game in the second.
Richard Schulzki also scored for the Rockets while Jared Baker netted both Wings’ markers.
Then against visiting Times Tigers (Fort Frances), the Rockets scored four times in the third period to skate away with a 6-4 win. Mutz led Rockets with two goals while Luke Judson, Ryan Witherspoon, Charlie DeBungee, and Richard Schulzki had singles.
Josh Sigurdson paced the Tigers with two goals while Nathan Calder got the other goal.
In PeeWee action, Emo Gillons’ skated past the Emo Predators 3-1. Brian Vargas, Brett Meyers, and Matt Redford hit the twine for the victors while Travis Wolframe notched the Predators lone goal.
Meanwhile, the visiting Fort Frances ‘AA’ PeeWees dumped the Emo Bantams 6-1, helped by three third-period tallies.
Andrew Mueller, Jamie Davis, Tyler Barker, Tanner Kaemingh, and Andrew George scored for the winners while Jeremy Hyatt saved Emo from the whitewash.
Finally, the Emo Blues and OPP (Fort Frances) crossed sticks in Midget action at the Emo Arena, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
Lawrence Kelly scored Emo’s only goal in the second, with Brad Gushulak replying for the Fort squad about three minutes later. Both the first and third periods were scoreless.
