Emo pucksters have good week on ice

The Emo Wings scored a late goal to earn a 2-2 tie with their town rivals, the Emo OPP, in novice hockey action there last week.
Richy Wieringa kept the Wings flying with two goals while T.J. Roen and Tyler Kinnear replied for the OPP.
In Atom play, S. Rea (two) and David Goodman sparked the Emo Selects to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Sunset Country Rangers.
Brian White notched the Rangers’ lone tally.
Meanwhile, the Emo PeeWee Panthers exploded for five goals in the third period for a 7-1 win over the visiting Kitowski Truckers (Fort Frances).
Cody Mosbeck paced the Panthers with a hat trick while Jeff Hyatt, Jeremy Hyatt, Bill Angus, and Eric Mosbeck netted singles. Erin McIvor spoiled Emo’s shutout bid.
Emo Hawks had enough feed left to edge the Kentucky Colonels (Fort Frances) 2-1, with Jamie Krukoski scoring the game-winner with just under six minutes to play.
Webb scored Emo’s other goal while Brad Maxwell replied for the Colonels.
And in Bantam action, the Emo Cowboys had to settle for split in their matches, losing 3-1 to the KC PeeWees (Fort Frances) on goals by Bryce Witherspoon, Dennis Morrison, and A.J. Tucker.
Charles Fisher found the range for Emo.
But then against Dryden, the Cowboys notched three third-period goals to snatch a 4-2 win.
Ken Vargas, Joel McCoy, Garry Curtis, and Paul Grennier all scored for Emo while Connor Johnson and Jarrett Brosseau tallied for Dryden.
