Emo pucksters enjoy good week

In Novice action, visiting Rainy River nipped the Emo Wings 3-2, scoring twice in the third period to steal the win.
Bryce Marmus (two) and Kalan Ewald tallied for Rainy River while Tristan Mose and Jordan Davis replied for Emo.
The Emo OPP fared a little better against the Times Tigers (Fort Frances), salvaging a 3-3 in the game’s final minute after squandering a 2-0 lead in the first period.
T.J. Roen scored twice for Emo (including the game-tying goal) while Tyler Huntley netted the other. Matt McLellan (two) and Taylor Jorgenson tallied for the Tigers.
But it was a different story against tagg’s (Fort Frances) as the OPP doubled the visitors 6-3. Roen, Terry Carmody, and Jared Baker each had two goals for Emo while Steve Boileau (two) and Matt Smith replied for the Taggs.
Meanwhile, the Emo Wings skated away with a 6-5 win over Busch’s Auto (Fort Frances). Jordan Davis paced the Wings with five goals while Tyler Cottam netted the other one.
Bret Lindberg has a hat trick in a losing cause, with Kevin Gruttner and Chad Dustak adding singles.
The Emo Rockets also came away with a win in their lone game, netting five first-period markers en route to an 8-3 victory over Skates and Blades (Fort Frances).
William Brandon led the way with the hat trick while Braden Barker (two), Maverick Judson, Luke Judson, and Charlie DeBungie also scored. Brian Glavish, George Ossachuk, and Kevin Bobczynski replied for Fort Frances.
In Atom action, the Emo Selects were given the battle of their lives by the Emo Leafs before skating away with a slim 3-1 victory. Leading 2-1 after one on goals by Brett Meyers and Eric Soucy, Matt Redford added the insurance marker with four minutes left in the tightly-played game.
Travis Wolframe notched the Leafs’ lone goal.
But the Esso Leafs bounced back against Gillons’ (Fort Frances) in their second contest, edging their visitors 1-0 on Nathan DeBungie’s first period goal assisted by Craig McTavish and Wolframe.
Meanwhile, the Selects won their second game, exploding for five second-period goals to dump Causeway (Fort Frances) 7-2. Brett Meyers paced the Selects with the hat trick while Tyson Romyn (two), Matt Redford, and Dennis Mutz also scored.
Nick Wreggitt and Joel Wreggitt replied for Causeway.
In Bantam play, the Emo Cowboys split their two games, opening with a 3-1 loss to the Oddfellows (Fort Frances). John Yellowega lead Fort Frances with two while Robert Atatise notched the other goal.
Jeff Friesen scored Emo’s lone marker in the second period.
But the Cowboys did much better against Canadian Tire (Fort Frances), skating away with a 5-0 win. Donald Kellar had two goals while Matt Meyers, Friesen, and Ken Vargas netted singles.
In PeeWee action, Emo doubled up visiting Fort Frances 6-3, scoring three times in the second frame to secure the win.
Jordan Wilson led the way with two goals while Eric Mosbeck, Tyler Barker, Cody Mosbeck, and Shaun Makinson tallied singles. Fort Frances got goals from Andrew Wiersema, Jeremy Mercure, and Andrew Mercure.
