Emo minor hockey teams had a good showing on the ice this past week, with only the Midgets singing the “blues.”
In Atom action, the Emo Selects downed the visiting MEC Bulldogs (Fort Frances) 5-1.
Nathan Brigham and Eric Soucy led Emo with two goals apiece while Tyson Romyn notched the other. Kevin Bobczynski replied for the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, the Emo Bantam Cowboys scored five times in the first frame to hand D & A Construction (girls) a 9-2 defeat.
Jeremy Hyatt and Jon Kinnear each netted hat tricks for the Cowboys natural while Caleb Firth, Jason Caul, and Jon Woodgate added singles.
Michelle Veldhuisen and Kim Fowler tallied for D & A.
But it was a much different story against the Emo Panthers, who mauled the Cowboys 8-3. Matt Meyers led the way with the hat trick while Kyle McTavish scored twice.
Travis Schram, Curtis Galusha and Ryan Fedoruk rifled home singles.
The Cowboys’ goal scorers were not given.
As for the Midget Blues, they were blanked 6-0 by the B•Macs (Fort Frances). Ira Ottertrail and AJ Tucker each scored twice while Cody Mosbeck and Jeff Friesen netted the others.
In their second game, the Blues were sidelined 3-1 by the OPP (Fort Frances).
Brad Gushulak, Jeff Wiersema, and L. Strain paced the visitors to victory while Darren DeGagne replied for Emo.
