The Beginners, facing Fort Frances for their first encounter this season, were sounded defeated 6-0. Ben Bruyere and Nick Nault led the visitors with two goals each while Joe Basaraba and Cam Badiuk added singles.
Meanwhile, the Esso Atom Leafs had to settle for a 3-3 tie after International Falls netted a goal with less than a minute to play.
Terry Carmody, Tyler Kennett, and Craig McTavish flashed the light for Esso (the Falls goal scorers were not available).
But it was a different story for the Emo OPP (Novice), who scored five second-period goals to dump visiting International Falls by a 10-6 count.
Mike Badiuk paced Emo with four goals while Jordan Davis and Jared Baker had two each. Cody Drennan and Dilton McDonald netted the other markers.
Mike Saksa had a hat trick in a losing cause, with Josh Leinum adding two and Christine Luccachick the other.
The Emo PeeWee Predators also beat International Falls, salting away a 7-1 victory with three goals in the final stanza.
Elijah Smith (three), David Pollard (two), Travis Wolframe, and Joel Baker all scored for the Predators while Adam Pelland netted the lone goal for the Falls midway through the third.
In Bantam action, the Emo Cowboys were stopped 6-2 by the Oddfellows (Fort Frances).
Ryan Smith had a hat trick for the Fort while Ryan Calder, Chris Christian, and Kiel Martin added singles. Jeremy Hyatt netted both Cowboy markers.
The Canadian Tire (Fort Frances) blanked the Emo Panthers 3-0 on goals by Sanders, Krukoski, and Rose.
