EDBMHA hands out awards

The Emo-Devlin-Barwick Minor Hockey Association gave kudos to players in both serious and light-hearted categories during its annual “Fun Day” recently.
The fastest shot trophy in each division went to Patrick Mills (Initiation), Robbie Rea (Novice), Carlee Bosma (Atom), Jared Baker (PeeWee), Terry Carmody (Bantam), and Scott Galusha (Midget).
Other “winners” included Robert Galloway (“Biggest Feet”), Sam Jackson (“Smallest Feet”), Josh Pollard (“Sweat Hog”), Blake Morken (“Happiest Player”), Robin Vien (“Craziest Moment”), and Cody Bodnar (“Hot Dog Hog”).
On a more serious note, at the EDBMHA’s annual awards banquet, Curtis Galusha of the Emo Cowboys took home the Robert (Bob) Steele Memorial Trophy as the Most Versatile Player in the Midget division.
Terry Carmody earned the Doug Wilson Memorial Trophy for Sportsmanship and Dedication in the Bantam division.
And Tim McDowall was handed the Hockey Trainer’s Recognition Award for making the most outstanding contribution to the ideals of safety, enjoyment, fair play, sportsmanship, education, and honesty in the game of hockey.
Esso Medals of Achievement also were awarded to three players on each team:
