Duo repeats as tourney winner

For the second year in a row, Jason Cain and Dan Tucker took home the title at the annual Rainy Lake Fall Bass Classic held Saturday at La Belle’s Birch Point Camp on Northwest Bay.
The Fort Frances natives reeled in a three-fish total of 13.42 pounds, which also include the big fish of the day (5.06).
Cain and Tucker claimed the title last year with a three-fish total of 14.22 pounds.
The runners-up at this year’s tourney were Leroy and Mike Wilson, who were close behind with 13.19 pounds.
Taking third were Tony and Marc Jackson (12.09), while Jason and Van Pavleck were fourth (11.71) and Jordon Stus and Vince Godbout rounded out the top five (11.68).
James Kaemingh and Bryan Hughes were sixth (11.62), followed by Riley Caul and Ryan Witherspoon (11.49) and Wayne and Dean Howard (11.49).
The father and son team of Mike and Javyn took ninth this year and also weighed in the second-biggest fish of the tourney–a 4.86-pound lunker.
Tom and Pete Blondinch rounded out the top 10 with a catch of 11.48 pounds.
Some 46 teams took part this year, with only one of them getting skunked.
This annual event features a three-fish limit.
