Three district hockey players are off to see the bright lights of the big city—and hope to light some lamps while they’re there.
Bryce Knapp and Jon Carlson, both of Fort Frances, and Rob Rea of Devlin left for Toronto on Boxing Day to compete in the Marlies Holiday Classic tournament.
The trio all play together on the C&D Sports Minor Midget Kings in Thunder Bay.
Carlson, a defenceman, has three goals and 15 assists in 35 games while Knapp has 17 goals and 19 assists in 33 games.
Rea, also a defenceman, has tallied five goals and 11 assists in 27 games.
The Kings currently lead the Winnipeg ‘AAA’ Midget City League with a 23-2-1 mark.
