Davis, Caul speed to wins

Jeff Davis and Riley Caul lay low until they really had to put into high gear.
The pair got off to slow starts, but zoomed to victory in their respective divisions during weekly go-kart action at the Emo Speedway.
With the racers making their Friday night debut after running on Saturday afternoons last year and Sunday afternoon last week, the spotlight shone brightest on Davis and Caul.
After missing out on the first heat of the Beginner division, Davis powered to victory in the second heat over Andrew Trimble and Carlee Bosma. He then repeated his accomplishment in the feature, with Trimble taking second and Bosma winding up third.
In the Gas division, Caul finished fourth in both the heats, with Cody Drennan and Jordan Davis taking the checkered flag in the two races, respectively.
But with the feature title on the line, Caul’s car was clicking on all cylinders, as runner-up Robbie Brandrick and third-place finisher Dale Hartlin could only chase him across the finish line.
Go-kart racing resumes this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Emo Speedway.
