THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Versatile Superior International Junior Hockey League skater Curtis Magas has earned the opportunity to continue his playing career, as well as further his education, as the Dryden GM Ice Dogs captain has committed to attend Selkirk College in British Columbia next season.
In two SIJHL campaigns in Dryden, the 20-year-old Kelowna, B.C., product saw action in 95 games in the league while providing 24 tallies and adding 44 assists along the way.
Magas played where needed for his club, seeing extensive time both at forward and defence, for head coach and general manager Kurt Walsten’s side.
His efforts on the ice in 2019-20 earned him team Most Valuable Player honours.
Selkirk College, based in Castlegar, B.C., sees the Saints competing as members of the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League.
There he will be joining two-year GM Ice Dogs’ teammate Jacob Anthony, who announced his commitment to the school earlier this month.
