The slugger has walloped six dingers to take over the home run lead in the Rainy River District Fastball League while his Sight & Sound teammates have followed his example and continue to lead the circuit with a stellar 15-1 mark.
Jim Chorney (Rainy River), Don Copenace (Sight & Sound), and Kevin Gemmell (Barwick) are tied for second in the home run derby with five apiece.
Rainy River (10-4) remains in second place while Pinewood (8-4) maintains a grip on third. Barwick (6-10) has a slight edge over Big Grassy (5-8) for fourth, with Rainy Lake (4-10-1) holding down sixth spot.
Big Island (3-8-1) is in a battle with last-place Stratton (3-10) to stay out of the cellar.
The RRDFL will hold an old-timers’ game tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at VanJura Stadium here in Fort Frances, with the league’s all-star game set to begin immediately afterwards at 8 p.m.
