It just wasn’t meant to be.
Despite qualifying 10th for the ARCA Racing Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 in Salem, Ind. yesterday and working his way up as high as second spot, Fort Frances native Steve Arpin’s hopes of a podium finish came to a crashing halt in a mix-up on Lap 94 that left his car in disrepair.
He eventually rejoined the race, but by then it was just a matter of moving up a few positions to finish in 17th spot.
Florida native Patrick Sheltra took the checkered flag. He was joined on the podium by Justin Lofton and Parker Kilgerman.
Arpin’s next ARCA race is scheduled for Sunday, April 19 at the Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, N.C.
