Cowboys lasso Predators

Emo Predators challenged Emo Cowboys in Bantam action recently and came out on the short end of a 3-1 score.
Matt Meyers started the ball rolling for the Cowboys midway through the first but David Pollard replied for the Predators just two minutes later.
The Cowboys took over the second frame on goals by Nathan Shute and Jeff Friesen, then held the Predators at bay in the third.
Meanwhile, Jesse Crawford scored in the third period to lift the Emo Panthers to a 2-2 tie with the KFC Colonels (Fort Frances). Daniel Hettinga also scored for Emo while Trevor Smith and Shane Belluz replied for the Fort.
In other action, Emo Gillons’ nipped Fort Frances Esso 2-1 on Greg Hartlin’s second-period tally. Gillons’ went up 1-0 in the first when Dillon McGuiness flashed the light.
Brett Perreault scored the equalizer at the nine-minute mark before Hartlin’s game-winner.
In Novice action, the Times Tigers got third-period markers from Steven Williams and Taylor Jorgenson to edge the Emo Wings 3-2.
Matt McLellan scored the other goal for the Tigers while Tyler Cottam and Michael Badiuk replied for the Wings.
But the Emo Rockets had better luck against Busch’s (Fort Frances), scoring a pair of goals in all three periods en route to a 6-2 win.
Ryan Witherspoon led Emo with a hat trick while Maverick Judson scored twice. Luke Judson netted the other goal, with Andrew Easton notching both Fort tallied.
Finally, Skates and Blades (Fort Frances) upended the host Emo OPP 5-2 victory with three third-period tallies.
Goal scorers were not available from the Fort team but TJ Roen netted both OPP markers.
