After dropping their NorWOSSA season-openers to Dryden last week, all four Muskie court squads bounced back in a huge way with a sweep of the Kenora Broncos here Tuesday afternoon.
In a game that resembled more of a defensive football game than a basketball one, the senior girls edged the visiting Broncos 11-10.
Mary Strain led the black-and-gold with five points while Adriane Gurski added four.
There was a lot more scoring in the junior girls’ game, which saw Fort High come away with a 38-23 triumph.
Scoring details were not available.
On the volleyball court, the Muskie senior boys’ squad earned its first league win of the season with a four-set victory over Kenora (25-13, 22-25, 25-22, and 25-14).
It was an easier afternoon for the junior boys, who swept the Broncos in straight sets (25-19, 25-23, and 25-23).
All four teams will to Dryden on Tuesday afternoon before hosting the Broncos again next Thursday.
