Court teams earn split


The four Muskie court teams resumed NorWOSSA action Tuesday in Dryden, with only the junior squads coming home victorious.
The junior boys’ basketball team won 39-33 to earn their second win of the season over the Eagles.
Darren Lundgren led the attack with a 15-point outing.
Meanwhile, the junior girls’ volleyball squad also improved to 2-1 after a thrilling five-set triumph by scores of 25-21, 17-25, 25-18, 12-25, and 15-11.
In other action Tuesday, the Muskie senior boys’ basketball squad suffered its first loss of the NorWOSSA campaign, falling 55-39 to the host Eagles.
Caleb McIntosh led the black-and-gold with 17 points.
And the senior girls’ volleyball team still is looking for its first NorWOSSA win after losing to Dryden in four sets (15-25, 21-25, 25-12, 10-25).
All four teams were back in action this afternoon at Fort High against the Kenora Broncos, then will hit the road this weekend for tournaments.
Both basketball squads will be in Thunder Bay while the spikers head to Kenora.
