‘Community sail’ to start

Our Tuesday Community Sail Night will start tomorrow (June 19) provided the weather and water levels co-operate.
Anyone is welcome to come out sailing with us. Just show up at either the Rendez-Vous dock in Fort Frances or the dock in Ranier.
Hopefully, there will be fair winds.
In other news, the fourth Wednesday night race of the spring series was held under gray skies but fair winds of 10 knots from the east.
Only two boats were out with the high water and poor weather although conditions were such that the current was not a major factor.
In first place was “Sedna,” captained by Quinn McCarthy, in a corrected time of 61:25. “Through” (Todd Hamilton) was second in a time of 62:29.
The race was very close with both boats sailing well. A penalty of one minute was applied to “Through” due to incidental contact with a marker.
The race would have been even closer without the penalty.
