Offence was hard to come by for CJ Contracting in its first two games, but that seemed hard to believe Monday night.
Five different goal scorers bulged the twine to help CJ (1-2) to a 5-3 win over Pharmasave in Borderland Soccer League men’s division action.
Caleb Koomans, Kevin Metke, Ian Jodoin, Connor Bujold, and Joey Angus each tallied once for CJ.
Gavin Richardson earned the win between the pipes.
Mike Webb notched a pair of goals in a losing cause for last-place Pharmasave (0-3), with Jeremy Nussbaumer getting the other one.
Steve Hands suffered the loss in goal.
Centra Pipelines and Manitou Forest Products were tied for first place at 2-0, with Centra winning 1-0 by forfeit over CJ last Thursday.
Those two teams clashed last night, with the score unavailable at press time.
Then tonight’s game at 7 p.m. will feature Manitou against CJ.
In the two-team women’s division, La Place Rendez-Vous/Taggs and Al’s Racquet Stringing battled to a 2-2 tie in the second of eight regular-season games scheduled between them.
Erin Tomalty had both goals for Vous/Taggs.
Jaymee Fiset started in goal, with Hailey Beaudry taking over at halftime.
Courtney Roach and Angel McCormack replied for Al’s, with Chantal Jodoin and Caroline Spencer splitting keeper duties.
The two teams are back at it this Monday at 7 p.m.
