But for a female cameo, the night would have been a complete write-off for Pharmasave.
Claire Hyatt had the only goal for the basement-dwellers in the Borderland Soccer League men’s division as Pharmasave was dumped 7-1 by CJ Contracting last night.
Hyatt, who normally plays for La Place Rendez-Vous/Taggs in the women’s division, came on board to help out short-handed Pharmasave and wound up being the only shooter to solve CJ keeper Cole Kowalski.
Connor Bujold and Cam Lidkea, meanwhile, each netted two goals for CJ (6-5-1).
Caleb Koomans, Joey Angus, and Kevin Metke had the other ones.
Steve Hands took the loss in goal for Pharmasave (3-9), who now trail third-place CJ by four points.
Pharmasave will look to rebound on Monday when they face first-place Centra Pipelines (6-3) at 7 p.m.
In women’s action Monday, Al’s Racquet Stringing (2-3-1) and La Place Rendez-Vous/Taggs (3-2-1) will play the seventh of their eight-game season series.
