The Muskie cheerleaders won’t be participating in the provincial championship next month in Mississauga after all.
Since placing first in the large (20+ members) all-girl event at the regional showdown in Thunder Bay late last month, the black-and-gold have lost three team members, making it to difficult to redesign their routine in time for provincials April 23-24.
“We had another girl drop out. We had two girls drop out previously and it just got too hard to change things around,” said Joelle Blanc, one of four coaches for the team.
“[The girls] were really upset,” she added.
The coaches now are trying to get the squad into a competition April 17 in Winnipeg.
