Centra reclaims top spot

Centra Pipelines had to sit idly back as Manitou Forest Products took their place at the top of the standings.
Centra took it right back yesterday evening.
Nico Veldhuisen netted a pair of goals to lead Centra to a 4-2 victory over Manitou in Borderland Soccer League men’s division action.
The win vaulted Centra (6-3) one point ahead of Manitou (5-3-1) for top spot in the league.
Max Williams booted his league-leading 10th goal of the season while Jeff Hyatt also bulged the twine for Centra, which snapped a three-game losing skid.
Tyler Hamm earned the win in goal.
Carter Chorney and Chris Sinclair replied for Manitou (5-3-1), with Jacob Albright taking the loss between the pipes.
Albright turned in a shutout effort Tuesday evening as Manitou blanked last-place Pharmasave (3-8) by a 3-0 score.
Colton Spicer scored twice in that one while Sinclair got the other goal.
Steve Hands was tagged with the loss in net.
League action resumes tonight at 7 p.m. with Pharmasave facing third-place CJ Contracting (5-5-1).
