The Fort Frances Canadians Midget ‘AA’ hockey team once again was unstoppable during its annual trip to the FASA Invitational tournament in Grand Forks, N.D.
The squad captured its third-consecutive crown and fourth overall.
The final Sunday afternoon against the Richland Rangers was a one-sided affair as the Canadians outshot their opponents 48-6 in cruising to an 8-0 victory.
Sam Berube and Brandon Sinclair both netted a pair of goals, with Lucas Koomans, Tyler Fontana, Gabe Handorgan, and Dylan Grinsell also scoring.
The final against the Rangers was a rematch of their tournament-opening game Friday night, when the Canadians cruised to an 14-0 victory.
Dylan Curtis had a hat trick.
The Canadians continued their winning ways Saturday, blanking the Huron All-Stars 7-0 in the morning and then downing the Holland/Terherne Rockets 4-1 that night.
Brandon McGinnis had a hat trick against the All-Stars while Grinsell led the way against the Rockets with two goals and an assist.
The Canadians will be back in action this weekend in Duluth.
