The Fort Frances Canadians Midget ‘AA’ hockey team had a busy weekend that produced three wins in three tries.
The Canadians opened with a 3-1 road win Friday over Grand Rapids on goals by Ryder Woolsey, Jeff Cridland, and Brett Bodnarchuk.
The squad then returned to Canada for a pair of games in Atikokan against the Voyageurs.
The Canadians took the opener by a 4-3 score in overtime on Saturday, getting the game-winner from Ryan Lundy.
Jeff Gustafson scored twice in regulation while Cridland netted the other goal.
Game 2 on Sunday featured a seesaw battle, with the Canadians coming out on top in a 6-4 win.
Gustafson scored twice again while Braedon Keast, Brandon Legarie, Cridland, and Lundy notched a goal apiece.
The Canadians’ busy schedule continues with an exhibition tilt in Baudette, Mn. tomorrow night (March 5) before they head to Manitoba for a game Saturday in Beausejour and then one Sunday in Pinawa.
