Canadians off to Duluth

The Fort Frances Canadians will look to continue their strong play of late at the 30th-annual “Spirit of Duluth” hockey tournament this weekend.
The Canadians are set to face Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, and Marquette in round-robin play starting tomorrow morning.
The team is coming off its most successful stretch of the season, winning their inaugural Midget ‘AA’ tournament this past weekend and then beating the Ely Timberwolves junior varsity squad 10-2 here Tuesday night.
Irv Lockman paced the Canadians in that one with a hat trick.
Also scoring were Josh Scott, Logan Allen, Colin Barton, Tyler Harris, Ryan Shortreed, Matthew Beck, and Brant Witherspoon.
