A Stanley Cup champion will be vying for a different trophy here this summer.
Atlanta Thrashers’ defenceman Dustin Byfuglien, who won Lord Stanley’s mug last season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, this week entered the annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship coming up in July.
Born in Minneapolis but having grown up in Roseau, Mn., Byfuglien will be a member of Team #75.
As of yesterday, 76 teams had entered the 2011 FFCBC, which runs July 17-23.
