In a weekend double-header, the Fort Frances Lakers weren’t able to overcome the Dryden Ice Dogs, losing to the visitors 9-2 on Friday, and 7-2 on Saturday, at the Ice for Kids Arena. The pair of losses puts the Lakers at a one win to five loss record in the season so far. The Lakers’ one victory took place September 24, when Thunder Bay forfeited the game. Despite last weekend’s setback, the team is training hard, and working towards its next match-ups will be October 21 against Sioux Lookout, October 28 and 29 against Dryden and November 16 against Kam River. The Lakers will return to home ice for the November 18 and 19 double match against Red Lake, and again November 22 against Dryden.
