Aaron Bujold can’t afford any more mistakes—and played like it earlier today.
The Muskies’ lone representative at the OFSAA badminton championships in North Bay eliminated Aaron Trowhill of the Woodstock Red Devils in the first round of ‘C’ Flight action this morning.
Bujold then took on Augusta Li of the Sinclair Celtics (Whitby) this afternoon in the ‘C’ quarter-finals.
That winner will move into the ‘C’ semi-finals later this afternoon against either Caleb Schmidt of the Haliburton Highlands Red Hawks or Sebastien Stefankow of the Ecole secondaire Macdonald-Cartier Pantheres (Sudbury).
If Bujold can survive past that point, he will play for the ‘C’ Flight gold medal tomorrow morning.
Bujold went 1-2 yesterday to open his second-straight appearance at OFSAA.
He dropped his opener to Samson Chan from the Centennial Chargers (Belleville) in second-round ‘A’ Flight action after getting a first-round bye.
Bujold regrouped and beat Adam Wallace of the host West Ferris Trojans (North Bay) in the first round of the ‘B’ Flight.
But then he fell in the second round to Griffin Nogas of the Royal St. George’s College Knights (Toronto).
