It’s time for local soccer enthusiasts to hit the pitch again.
Registration for the men’s and women’s Borderland soccer leagues will be held today (May 12) from 6-8 p.m. at the Fort Frances High School atrium.
A late registration date is set for next Wednesday (May 20) from 6-8 p.m.
The sign-up fee is $100 for men and $90 for women, based upon a roster of 15 players per team.
Players must bring along their health card when registering.
The schedule will feature 16 games for the men and 12 for the women.
Last year’s men’s league, which saw Dominos take the title, featured five teams, though that is expected to be scaled back to four.
The women’s league, won by Gillons’, is expected to scale back to three teams from last year’s four to prevent forfeits.
New league president Tristan Hutton could not be reached for comment as of press time.
Exhibition games will take place during the week of May 25, with regular-season games to begin June 1.
