It was a near perfect weekend of ice oval racing for Curtis Boivin of Fort Frances.
Boivin went undefeated Saturday through the heat races, and then on Sunday winning finals in Jr. II 14-15 600 cc Fan, Sport 600 Fan, Jr. II Sprint, Jr. III Sprint, and 550 Sprint.
He also finished second in 500 Sprint Open.
Boivin’s clean sweep was spoiled only by 2008 Eagle River champion Travis McDonald of Winnipeg in the Sprint 500 Open.
The track in Garrison was short and to the liking of Boivin as he does most of his passing in the corners.
The lake ice did become very rough and rutted on Sunday, but Boivin drove both his Polaris race sleds without incident all weekend long.
Boivin will be in Forest Lake, Mn. this weekend (Feb. 9-10).
