The three Muskie badminton players competing at the all-Ontarios in Stratford were trimmed in tight opening matches yesterday, but were on the other side of close wins this morning.
Rory Bagacki fell 25-23 and 21-19 to Francis Lau in his opening match in the boys’ singles division, but pulled out a comeback win over Elliot Carter (20-22, 21-10, and 25-23) to remain in the ‘B’ flight.
The win advanced Bagacki to a showdown with Jason Lao this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the girls’ doubles team of Kimika Alexander and Chelsea Carlson dropped a 2-1 decision (16-21, 22-20, and 21-18) to Keija Lin and Ava Wei yesterday before coming back to beat Alice Van Ngo and Karen Nguyen (16-21, 21-14 and 21-14) this morning.
Alexander and Carlson were to take on Kahei Leung and Vivian Liu in their next match.
