Six members of the Muskie badminton squad have qualified for the NorWOSSA playoffs.
Four seniors and two juniors advanced from yesterday’s qualifier in Dryden, and will compete next Wednesday in the NorWOSSA showdown in Kenora.
At the senior level, Fort High’s boys’ doubles team of Spencer Pearce and Robert Stevens finished first while Rory Bagacki captured the boys’ singles title.
Among the girls, the doubles team of Kimika Alexander and Chelsea Carlson finished first.
The duo of Hannah Taylor and Jillian Berry also advanced with a third-place showing yesterday in Dryden.
As for the juniors, the boys’ doubles team of Andre Emond and Bryson Skirten advanced with a second-place result.
Cassandra Spade, meanwhile, came out of the girls’ singles competition after placing second yesterday.
The NWOSSAA playoffs go April 26 in Atikokan, with the all-Ontarios set for May 5-8 in Stratford.
