Beers misses cut at tourney

Brian Beers was on the outside looking in after yesterday’s third-round at the Canadian Club Champions Championship in Whistler, B.C.
Beers needed to have a 234 or lower to qualify for the final round today but missed the cut by 19 shots. He carded an 84 yesterday to finish with a 253 total after shooting an 87 on Tuesday and an 83 on Wednesday.
The top 70 golfers (and ties) out of the field of 120 advanced to the final round.
Defending champ Craig Doell (Victoria) and Brad Pemberton (Port Hope) are tied at four-under 209 heading into play today at the par-71 course.
Beers is the current Kitchen Creek men’s champ.
In other golfing news, current ladies’ club champ Christin Thomson fired a hole-in-one at the par-3 fifth here Wednesday—which also happened to be her 19th birthday.
