Thanks to a 13-game win streak dating back to May 24, Beef’s Warriors quickly have become a force to be reckoned with during their inaugural season in the Rainy River District Fastball League.
The Warriors currently hold top spot in the 10-team loop with an impressive 14-1 record.
Their lone loss came back on May 19 when they fell 3-1 to the Big Grassy Braves.
Beef’s Warriors were scheduled to play Stratton (7-8) last night but the game was postponed.
In other RRDFL action yesterday, the second-place Braves (12-5) cruised to an 8-4 win over the Rainy River Royals (8-8).
The defending champion Sight & Sound Wolves (7-7-1) romped to a 14-3 win against Northwest Bay (1-15), the Big Grassy Lightning (9-6) routed Manitou (4-10) 20-0, and Big Island (4-10-1) eked out a 2-0 upset over Barwick (9-7).
Next week marks the last regular-season games before the playoffs, which will start July 26.
Tuesday’s games will see Rainy River travelling to Barwick, Stratton squaring off with Northwest Bay, the Lightning taking on Beef’s Warriors, Sight & Sound hosting Big Island, and Manitou battling the Braves.
Any games that need to be made up before the playoffs will be played next Thursday.
