Beaudry rink still in hunt at nationals

The impressive showing for the Kim Beaudry rink continues at the Everest Senior Curling Championships being held in Chilliwack, B.C.
The squad, which is representing Northern Ontario and also is comprised of Barb Roy (third), Wendy Brunetta (second), and Kris Sinclair (lead), defeated Quebec 7-4 yesterday afternoon to finish round-robin play in second place in their pool with a 4-2 record.
With the win, Beaudry advanced to the Championship Pool and had their first match this morning against Manitoba (5-1), with the outcome not known as of press time.
The squad then will a tough test against unbeaten Ontario (6-0) tonight before squaring off against Newfoundland and Labrador (3-3) tomorrow morning.
Beaudry then will cap Championship Pool by battling Nova Scotia (4-2) that night.
The Championship Pool consists of the top four teams in each pool crossing over and playing the teams from the opposite one.
The rest of the teams will play in a seeding pool to determine standings for next year.
At the conclusion of the Championship Pool tomorrow, the semi-finals will be held Thursday afternoon, pairing 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3.
The winners then advance to their respective gold-medal final that night while the losers will play for bronze.
