Bantam hockey awards handed out

Some auspicious athletes received their just rewards recently as the Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association handed out its annual Bantam house league awards as well as some additional Esso Medals of Achievement.
Justin Scott (Canadian Tire) won the Don Lovisa Memorial award as the league’s Most Valuable Player to go along with his Esso medal as co-choice along with Clint Crowe for his team’s Most Dedicated Player.
Their teammate, Jerome Tuesday, captured the Joe Bolzan Sr. Memorial award as the league’s Most Valuable Goalie, while Alex Wepruk (Oddfellows) captured the Harvey Shute Memorial award as the Most Dedicated Player.
Other Esso Medal of Achievement winners included:
•Canadian Tire—Darcy Arden (Most Improved) and Joel Smith (Most Sportsmanlike);
•Oddfellows—David Ellis (Most Dedicated), Malcolm Daley (Most Improved), and Curtis Logue (Most Sportsmanlike);
•Kennedy K-9’s—Brian Glavish/Steve Boileau (Most Dedicated), Tyler Johnson (Most Improved), and Cole Derkson (Most Sportsmanlike); and
•Holmlund’s Leafs—Matt McLellan (Most Dedicated), Nathan Grynol (Most Sportsmanlike), and Roland Roy/Mike Cochrane (Most Improved).
