Ballan, McBride finish sixth at derby

Steve Ballan (Fort Frances) and Doug McBride (Devlin) finished sixth to emerge as the top local duo in the 120-team field competing in the eighth-annual Sioux Narrows/Nestor Falls “Bassin” for Bucks” tournament Sept. 10-12 on Lake of the Woods.
They finished with 39.36 pounds—6.29 behind the winning team of Jerry Millar and Scott Cook, both of Winnipeg.
Meanwhile, Norm Lindsay (Sioux Narrows) and Bill Godin (Devlin) finished in 15th place overall with 36.28 pounds in the event, which fishes for both largemouth and smallmouth bass.
