Carole Mackintosh is on the hunt for a fresh group of birdie bashers.
Since the holiday season, participation in the Fort Frances Badminton Club has dwindled to a mere handful of players.
Mackintosh hopes those who haven’t taken the opportunity to come out yet for the weekly sessions at Fort Frances High School will decide now is the time to take their shot.
“We have players of all different skill levels, whether you’re a beginner or a crack tournament player,” Mackintosh said of the club, which is open to those aged 18 and over.
“At this time of year, right after the holidays, we need to commit to a little more exercise instead of becoming couch potatoes,” she noted.
Players only need to bring along a clean pair of indoor running shoes, and are asked to bring their own racquet if they have one. Those without a racquet will be supplied with one upon arriving at the gym.
The sessions run from 7:30-9:30 p.m. every Friday until the school year is over.
