The Fort Frances Youth Badminton Club held its annual “Family Fun Wind-Up” last Monday night at Robert Moore School and several players walked away with awards.
Sharing the first-place prize for best attendance were Jennifer Lawson and Natalie Desjardins, with the second-place award going to Jason Pattison and Jennifer Pattison.
Lawson also captured the “Challenge Ladder” award, given to players challenged those players ranked above them in terms of talent.
While strictly optional, most of the club players chose to participate in the “ladder,” which provided them the chance to play competitive matches to improve their skill level.
Winning the most sportsmanlike player awards in the junior division were Jennifer Pattison (group ‘A’), Britainee Whalen (group ‘B’), and Mallory Chowan (group ‘C’).
In the senior division, the most sportsmanlike player award went to Adrian Bondett, who also was named the most improved player in the senior division.
