The Red Gut Babes are back in the win column.
Alyssa Windego went the distance while the Babes found just enough offence to top the visiting Sabaskong Tebinaak 13-12 in the lone Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League game last night.
It was the first of what will be several makeup games over the next week or so as the first half of the schedule winds down.
With the win, the Babes (6-3) moved into sole possession of fourth place over the idle Big Grassy Lynx (5-3).
Devyn Kelly took the loss for Tebinaak (2-7), which remains tied with the Fort Frances Angels (2-7) for 10th in the RRDFWL.
Tonight’s lone matchup will feature the defending Northwest Bay Beavers (4-4) visiting the Emo Renegades (4-6).
The Beavers are riding a four-game winning streak.
The Renegades, meanwhile, are coming off a 8-4 win over the Couchiching Lady Raiders on Wednesday that ended a five-game losing skid.
