Arpin strikes gold

Despite not being able to complete one event due to a broken sled, Steve Arpin took top honours in four of his five Ice Oval races last weekend in Roseau, Mn.
They included the SP 440 L (ProX 440), SP 600 L (ProX 600), SP Champ (Champ 440), and Formula Open (Champ 440).
His sled broke down during the Pro Stock 440F (XCF 440) event and he wound up fifth.
Back on Dec. 9-10 in Beausejour, Mn., Arpin captured first place in each of his four events–Stock 500 L (ProX 440), Stock 600 L (ProX 600), Pro Stock 440 L (ProX 440), and Stock 440 (ProX 440).
Tom Rager Sr., of Polaris Racing, faxed a letter yesterday to Arpin and his dad, Chuck, congratulating them for their outstanding results this past weekend in Roseau.
“Your team did a great job representing Arpin Racing and Polaris,” he wrote. “Steve certainly has more talent than any other 17-year-old racer I have ever seen.
“Along with driving talent, dad’s setup is certainly top-notch as well!” he added.
