Arpin set for return

Fort Frances native Steve Arpin will be back behind the wheel Friday night in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway as he makes his season debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
Arpin will be driving the #30 Mike’s On The Rocks Chevrolet Impala for Turner Motorsports in the 200-lap affair on the 1.5-mile oval.
It will be the first of two races the 28-year-old has on his schedule so far.
His next race will be the Aaron’s 312 event at the
Talladega Superspeedway, which will be held Saturday, May 5.
Arpin competed in five races for Turner Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series in 2011, where he became the first Canadian in more than a decade to earn a pole in the series at the Chicagoland Speedway last September.
He is returning to the Nationwide Series, where he ran seven races in 2010 for JR Motorsports.
His best finish that year was a 10th place at the Daytona International Speedway in July.
Friday’s race from Texas will be broadcast on TSN 2, on tape delay, starting at 9 p.m. (CDT).
