Arpin misses out on finals

Fort Frances native Steve Arpin failed to qualify for the finals yesterday in the fourth Global Rallycross Championship event of the season, which was held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H.
After missing out on transferring into the finals from his heat race, Arpin had a chance to earn one of two transfer spots in a four-lap Last Chance Qualifier event.
However, his car stalled out early in the proceedings, which confined him to a sixth place finish,
Finland’s Toomas Heikkinen picked up the checkered flag in the main event for his second straight win.
Arpin will return to action next Saturday in Bristol, Tenn., as the GRC tour travels to the Bristol Motor Speedway.
