Local driver Steve Arpin is looking to finish the ARCA season strong.
He certainly did that in his second-last race of the year, cruising to a second-place finish yesterday at the ARCA Kansas Lottery 150 at Kansas Speedway.
According to ARCA’s website, 18-year-old Ty Dillon passed Arpin with five laps to go to claim the victory.
Arpin then held off Craig Goess for second.
Arpin, 26, had led the race twice, having passed pole-sitter Mikey Kile on Lap 64 before alternating with Dillon in the late stages.
Dillon took the lead on Lap 88, Arpin reclaimed it on Lap 93, but Dillon held on for good on Lap 95.
Arpin remains in 13th spot in the points standings with 3,315. Patrick Sheltra leads with 4,495.
ARCA’s final race of the year, the American 200, goes Oct. 9 at Rockingham Speedway.
