Fort Frances native Steve Arpin finished fifth at the Tire Kingdom 150 at Palm Beach International Speedway on Saturday.
It was the fourth fifth-place finish of Arpin’s ARCA career.
His highest is a fourth-place finish last year.
The high placement also vaulted Arpin into a tie for second place in the ARCA driver standings with Robb Brent.
Both drivers hold 390 points in the young campaign.
Overall leader Justin Marks, who won Saturday’s race, has 420 points.
Drivers completed just 70 of the scheduled 75 laps because of heavy rain.
Organizers tried to complete as much of the race as possible in the wet conditions before waving the checkered flag after Lap 70.
The rain had started to fall around Lap 20.
Saturday’s race was the first time ARCA had competed in the rain, and ARCA’s website noted Arpin was the first driver to pit for rain tires.
ARCA’s next scheduled race is the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 in Salem, Ind. on April 11.
