Arpin drops off pace

Steve Arpin isn’t sneaking up on his rivals anymore–they already knows he’s coming.
The Fort Frances native had what was for him this season a below-average showing at the latest Red Bull Global Rallycross tour stop in Seattle over the weekend.
Arpin, driving the Loenbro Motorsports No. 00 car, was sitting second in the drivers’ championship points race entering the doubleheader event.
But with a fourth-place showing Saturday, followed by a seventh-place result Sunday, Arpin slipped to third with 682 points behind the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross duo of division leader Scott Speed (756) and Tanner Foust (726).
Foust who crossed the finish line first ahead of Speed in the feature both days.
Arpin will need skill and luck to overtake the pair with the season down to its final race of the year Oct. 14 in Los Angeles.
The race can be seen on the NBC Sports Network at 3:30 p.m. (CDT).
