Fort Frances native Steve Arpin keeps moving up the leaderboard each week on the ARCA RE/MAX Series, with his best result to date coming yesterday with a 10th-place finish in the Carolina 200 at Rockingham Speedway, N.C.
Veteran Ken Schrader dominated much of the race, but it was rookie Sean Caisse who walked off with the trophy after Schrader ran out of gas with three laps to go.
Arpin had struggled in qualifying, clocking a lap time of 26.296 seconds to start in 27th spot, but worked his way up to a top-10 finish.
The 25-year-old finished 17th at the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 earlier this month, and now is 10th on the points list with 450 through three races.
Patrick Sheltra, who finished second yesterday, leads the way with 650 points.
Arpin and his Eddie Sharp Racing team now are preparing for the ARCA RE/MAX 200 at the famed Talladega Superspeedway this Friday (April 24).
