Aquanauts surging forward

Staff

The Fort Frances Aquanauts are developing nicely so far this swim season.
In the team’s past two events, the Prairie Winter Invitational in Winnipeg and a developmental meet in Dryden, all the swimmers returned with personal best times.
Headlining those efforts was Donovan Taylor, who captured bronze in the 15-and-over division in the 400m IM at the Prairie Winter Invitational held Dec. 4-6.
The Aquanauts will host their annual meet Feb. 5-7 at the Memorial Sports Centre, then will see action in two events on the final weekend of February.
Taylor has qualified for the short-course junior provincial championships in Etobicoke on Feb. 26-28 while several other Aquanauts will hit the pool that same weekend in Thunder Bay.
The Aquanauts resumed practice Monday after taking time off for a Christmas break.
In terms of training, five swimmers will take part in a training camp in Thunder Bay from Jan. 15-17.
