Aquanauts show strong results at provincial debut

Four Aquanauts joined more than 1,000 of their fellow swimmers at the junior provincials in Brantford last week.
This was the first time the Aquanauts have sent swimmers to this event. And while none made a national standard time, head coach Roman Ramirez said the experience was the key reason for making the trip.
“I’m happy we made this first step, we sent swimmers down there,” said Ramirez. “The next step is to see how we can improve.”
Three of the four Aquanauts—Karli McKinnon, Rachel Dutton, and Jessica Cousineau—achieved some personal best times at Brantford. Teammate Heather Dutton also competed there.
“They improved the times. It was a high-level meet and everyone did good job,” noted Ramirez.
Meanwhile, 11 Aquanauts in the ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ divisions were in Kenora for the annual Swimming Sharks March sprint meet.
Their next competitive meet is the Northwestern Ontario regionals April 5-7 in Thunder Bay.
The following are the results from Brantford and Kenora. No placings were given for the junior provincials as it was a time-based competition only (* denotes personal best):
