Aquanaut trio golden at Kenora

Fort Frances Aquanaut Adam Stromberg led the local contingent at the Northwestern Ontario Open in Kenora over the weekend.
Stromberg hit the podium seven times, collecting three golds and four silvers.
Stromberg, 11, finished first in his age division in the 50m fly (37.66), 100m fly (1:31.32), and 100m I.M. (1:24.12).
His silvers, meanwhile, came in the 50m free (31.27), 100m free (1:10.54), 100m breast (1:35.90), and 200m free (2:42.93).
The Aquanauts boasted two other gold-medal winners in Mitchell Riordon and Anika Beaudry.
Riordon, 11, captured top honours in the 50m back (48.03) while Beaudry, 10, topped the 50m breast (52.96).
Beaudry saw the podium twice more, earning a second-place in the 100m fly (2:07.06) and a third in the 100m I.M. (1:49.52).
Riordon placed second in the 50m breasts (1:02.66) for his second medal of the weekend.
Lyndsi Jo Wilson, Cole Trimble, and Sarah Rittau all earned silver medals for the Aquanauts.
Wilson, 11, took second in both the 50m back (45.58) and 200m fly (4:00.81) while Trimble, nine, was runner-up in the 100m breast (2:43.94).
He also picked up a bronze in the 200m back (5:17.16).
Rittau, nine, placed second in the 50m back (50.85) and took a third in the 50m breast (1:01.37).
Krista Emond and Regan Danylchuk rounded out the Aquanauts’ podium rush, with Emond earning three bronze medals and Danylchuk one.
Emond, 16, was third in the 50m fly (36.90), 100m breast (1:35.25), and 800m free (11:49.57).
Danylchuk, 11, was third in the 400m frees (6:16.33).
