Alliance back atop league

Staff

With a perfect six-point night last Thursday, Alliance now sits tied for first place with By The Balls in the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League at 41 points apiece.
By The Balls had to cancel its matches for the evening, allowing Alliance to catch up to the front-runners.
Both teams don’t have much breathing room, though, as Gillons’ Cougars used a four-point night to stay in third place while creeping within one point of top spot with 40.
Kiss My Pass remained fourth (38) while Scared Hitless stayed in fifth (35).
Notorious D.I.G. matched Alliance’s six-point outing to remain in sixth place (32).
But defending champ Dig This struggled for a second-straight week—following a one-point performance in Week 9 by getting skunked last Thursday to stay in seventh (23).
Bump It Up grabbed five points last Thursday to remain in eighth (20), marking the third-straight week the squad has collected at least five points.
Ball Busters jumped one position to ninth (17) while SMASH fell one position to 10th (13).
I’d Hit That mustered a single point to move into a tie for 11th (12 points) along with Kiss My Ace, which was shut out.
Action resumes tonight at 7 p.m. at Fort High and St. Michael’s School.
